Multi-Build Limited together with representatives from the Estate Department of Ghana Health Service have completed handing over of all twelve (12) sites earmarked for the construction of the various health projects across the country as part of consultancy services for the design and construction supervision. These projects are Walk-in Cold Rooms, Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) Plants, and Neonatal Care Units, which are being financed by the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF).
After competitive bidding awarded to four Contracting firms, Awacon Ghana Limited, Mac Mining and Partners, Golivil Limited Company, and Landsar Developers Limited have been awarded the project grouped in four lots. Multi-Build is the institutional consultant for the project and this exercise was led by the Managing Architect, Charles Amissah-Koomson, and Naa Ardiwah Tagoe, Assistant Architect. The site possession was conducted from the 26th October to 5th November 2023. The projects are expected to be completed by June 2024. The projects, after completion, aim to support the Ghana Health Service in curbing newborn mortality rate, hypoxemia-related morbidity and mortality, and the strengthening of logistics including expansion of cold chain storage capacity and vaccine management.
The sites selected for these projects are spread across the newly created and some existing regions within the country namely; Oti (Worawora), Western North (Sefwi-Wiawso, Bodi), Savannah (Gambaga, Damongo), North East, Volta (Hohoe, Ho), Bono East (Kintampo) Greater Accra, Western (Sekondi), and Ashanti (Tafo). The Consultant took the opportunity to inform the local stakeholders about the project requirements and expectations from the Contractors with regard to working within the project timelines and quality benchmarks.
